Agartala, January 07, 2026: Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Tuesday reiterated that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is committed to building “healthy politics” in the state, while accusing rival parties of attempting to create divisions among communities.

Addressing a massive public gathering organized by the BJP’s Chawmanu Mandal, Dr. Saha said extremist outfits such as the All Tripura Tiger Force (ATTF) and National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) once thrived on silencing people’s voices, but have since been brought into the mainstream under the BJP-led government.

“By creating tension and violence, one of the largest national parties in the world cannot be suppressed. CPI(M) still uses various means to divide the jaati and janajati,” he remarked.

The Chief Minister expressed gratitude for the overwhelming reception he received upon arriving at Manu railway station, where large numbers of tribal residents lined the roads to greet him. He said the turnout reflected people’s trust in Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP.

“Peace has been established here, and several welfare schemes are being implemented for the janajati community,” Dr. Saha added, countering claims that the BJP lacks organizational presence among tribal groups.

Dr. Saha accused certain parties of “hoisting flags” and staging protests over water and road issues to obstruct BJP activities. “The more they try to hit us, the more we will respond—within the law. Such politics will not continue in Tripura,” he asserted.

He further warned regional parties against resorting to violence, saying, “The BJP is strong not only in India but across the world. Threats to keep us out of ADC areas will not succeed—we will reach every household.”

Highlighting the growing support base, Dr. Saha announced that 2,499 tribal men and women formally joined the BJP during the program, surpassing the expected figure of 1,868. “The BJP is strengthening day by day. The progress of the janajatis cannot be stopped by protests or false propaganda,” he said.

The Chief Minister also accused the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) of mismanagement and corruption. He noted that the state government allocated 39.06 percent of the 2024–25 budget to the council, yet development remains absent in ADC areas.

“This enthusiasm proves the BJP will secure all 28 seats in the TTAADC,” Dr. Saha declared.

The event was attended by BJP General Secretary Bipin Debbarma, Tribal Welfare Minister Bikas Debbarma, former MP Rebati Tripura, MLA Shambhu Lal Chakma, MDC Sanjib Reang, District President Patiram Tripura, Dhalai District President Sushmita Das, Chawmanu Mandal President Biplob Chakma, along with other senior leaders.
