Agartala, January 10, 2026: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and Member of Parliament Biplab Kumar Deb asserted that West Bengal’s economy would undergo a major transformation if the party comes to power in the state. Speaking at the Parivartan Sankalp Yatra in Jalpaiguri Sadar constituency, Deb declared that the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) would no longer be given “any chance to escape.”
The event, which witnessed a large number of people joining the BJP from the Trinamool Congress and the Communist Party of India (Marxist), was marked by Deb’s sharp criticism of the state government.
Addressing the gathering, Deb said BJP workers had finally taken to the ground, symbolically connecting with Bengal’s farmers. “Most of India’s population are farmers, and their bond with land is spiritual. Now our workers have stepped onto that land. This time, TMC will not be allowed to flee,” he remarked.
He further alleged that while the Communist Party was once given space in Bengal, the Trinamool Congress would not be afforded such an opportunity.
Deb accused the TMC leadership of diverting state revenues for personal gain. “West Bengal has everything, but the revenue never reaches the state government. It goes directly to Trinamool leaders. That is why development is stalled,” he claimed.
He assured that under a BJP government, such funds would be channelled through the state budget and used for public welfare. “Only then will Bengal witness true development. If BJP comes to power, the economy of West Bengal will change,” Deb said.
Calling the political battle against TMC “a fight for future generations,” Deb urged people to support the BJP’s mission to “oust Trinamool from Bengal.”
