Agartala, November 13, 2025: In a poignant twist of fate, residents of Uttar Mura in Charilam Aralia Gram Panchayat are grappling with the emotional weight of an extraordinary coincidence: the deaths of a brother and sister on the same date, exactly ten years apart.

On November 12, 2015, Mayana Begum, then the elected head of Aralia Gram Panchayat, passed away. Her death left a deep void in the community she served. A decade later, on the evening of November 12, 2025, her younger brother Zakir Hossain, a Panchayat Secretary posted at Laljuri RD Block in North Tripura district, collapsed from a sudden cardiac arrest shortly after returning home from work. He didn’t even have time to set down his office bag before succumbing to the fatal attack.

Zakir’s body was brought back to his ancestral home in Uttar Mura on Thursday afternoon. His grave was prepared beside his sister’s resting place near the old Charilam residence, close to the shrine of Manu Fakir.

As villagers gathered to pay their respects, many were struck by the eerie symmetry of the dates. “It’s hard to comprehend the divine play,” one villager remarked, recalling that Mayana had died on the same day ten years earlier. The coincidence has left the community deeply shaken, with relatives and neighbors expressing profound grief as they laid Zakir to rest.

The shared date of death has become a somber symbol of loss and mystery, echoing through the hearts of those who knew the siblings and their service to the village.
