Agartala, Jan 30: The Border Security Force (BSF) in Tripura has successfully thwarted two significant smuggling attempts along the Indo-Bangladesh border. On 29th January, BSF personnel seized clothes and firecrackers worth ₹24,48,000 in the Digyabari area of West Tripura, which were intended for illegal export to Bangladesh.
In a separate operation on 28th January, a joint effort by BSF Tripura and Customs officials led to the seizure of a Bolero pickup truck in the Kamthana area. The vehicle was carrying 2,000 kg of sugar, also meant for smuggling into Bangladesh. These operations highlight the ongoing vigilance and coordinated efforts to combat cross-border smuggling.
