Agartala, April 04, 2026: In a prompt and courageous response, troops of the Border Security Force (BSF) successfully rescued civilians following a road accident at Jalabasti in Tripura on Saturday morning.
At around 0930 hrs, a civil jeep (Regn No. TR01 4489) carrying 22 passengers from Jalabasti to Chawmanu met with an accident due to a slippery road. The vehicle reportedly skidded off the road and plunged approximately 50 feet вниз in the Area of Responsibility of Border Out Post (BOP) Jalabasti under 33 Battalion BSF, Sector Panisagar.
Upon receiving information, Officiating Company Commander Shri R. C. Nath swiftly mobilised BSF personnel and rushed to the accident site with a rescue vehicle. Demonstrating efficiency and coordination, the troops successfully extricated all passengers from the damaged vehicle.
A total of eleven injured persons, including five women and six men, were immediately evacuated to Chawmanu Hospital by 1015 hrs for necessary medical treatment.
No fatalities have been reported in the incident. The timely intervention and professionalism displayed by BSF personnel ensured swift rescue and medical assistance, thereby preventing any loss of life.
