Agartala, August 05, 2025: Tripura’s former Chief Minister and Lok Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb has expressed heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for approving a financial aid of ₹3 lakh from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF) for the advanced cancer treatment of Smt. Gayatri Karmakar, a resident of Ujan Abhoynagar, Agartala.
Deb said, “I express my sincere gratitude and thanks to the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji for sanctioning ₹3 lakh for the advanced treatment of Smt. Gayatri Karmakar, who is suffering from incurable cancer.”
He further stated that upon receiving the request for assistance, he promptly forwarded the appeal to the Prime Minister’s Office for consideration. “When Smt. Gayatri Karmakar requested medical assistance, I immediately sent it to the PM Relief Fund, and it was approved within a very short time,” Deb added.
Highlighting the Prime Minister’s compassionate approach, Deb noted, “Hon’ble Prime Minister Ji has approved each and every one of the requests regarding advanced treatment with a sincere eye.”
The letter of sanction, dated July 15, 2025, confirms the release of ₹3,00,000 as a part of the cost of treatment under the PMNRF, acknowledging the financial hardship faced by Karmakar and her family.
The Prime Minister in his letter conveyed best wishes for her recovery, stating, “I hope you recover soon and continue to share in the joys and sorrows of your family.”
