Kohima, Feb 5: The Central Government, Nagaland Government, and Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation (ENPO) on Thursday signed an agreement for the formation of the Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority (FNTA). The signing took place in New Delhi in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Nagaland Chief Minister Nephiu Rio.
Speaking at the event, Amit Shah described the day as momentous for the people of Nagaland. He said the government has taken a step forward in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a strife-free, violence-free, and developed Northeast. Shah lauded officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs for acting as a bridge between ENPO and the Nagaland Government, leading to the resolution. He also assured the people of Eastern Nagaland of continued government support for the region’s development.
Nagaland Chief Minister Nephiu Rio said the historic agreement reflects the government’s commitment to equitable and inclusive governance and its efforts to ensure development reaches all regions of the state.
