Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma met with nurses from the state currently working in hospitals in Kobe, Japan, under the Mission Moon programme, officials said on Wednesday.

The initiative, launched by the Meghalaya State Skills Development Society (MSSDS) in March 2023, aims to create international employment opportunities for Meghalaya’s youth in the healthcare sector.

Officials said the 27 nurses working in Japan belong to the second batch placed abroad through this programme.
