Agartala, December 11, 2025: Grief has gripped the Indira Panchayat area following the sudden death of sharecropper Sanjib Das. The tragic incident, which occurred a few days ago, drew the attention of the Chief Minister, who promptly directed the district administration to take necessary measures.

In line with government instructions, the Chief Minister personally attended the Mukhyamantri Samipeshu programme today and handed over financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh to the widow Bandana Majumder Das. Additionally, one of the couple’s two daughters will receive a monthly allowance of Rs 4,000.

To ensure long-term support and stability for the bereaved family, the Chief Minister also ordered their inclusion under the Antyodaya scheme. This will enable them to access a range of government benefits and social security programmes.

“We stand firmly beside this farming family. The government will ensure all possible assistance is extended,” the Chief Minister stated.
