Agartala, October 25, 2025: In a major push toward women’s empowerment and rural prosperity, Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Saturday inaugurated the closing and prize giving ceremony of ‘Samriddhi Abhiyan’ under the Tripura Rural Livelihood Mission (TRLM) at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan in Agartala city.

The initiative seeks to advance the vision of “Lakhpati Didis” by empowering rural women through enhanced financial inclusion and entrepreneurship opportunities.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Dr. Saha emphasized that the state government is firmly committed to ensuring economic independence for women. “The strength of our rural economy lies in the hands of empowered women. Through this initiative, we aim to help every self-help group (SHG) member become financially self-reliant and a true example of progress,” he said.

The Samriddhi Abhiyan aims to deepen SHG–bank linkages, introduce new livelihood avenues, and promote easy access to credit for women entrepreneurs. Launched on August 1, 2025, the campaign initially targeted loan disbursements worth ₹110 crore in its first month. However, it surpassed expectations, achieving loan sanctions worth ₹198 crore — highlighting both women’s enthusiasm and the state’s strong support system.

During the state-level event on Saturday, an additional Rs 100 crore was distributed as Community Investment Fund among Cluster-Level Federations (CLFs) to further boost rural enterprises and economic growth.

Currently, more than 4.86 lakh rural women in Tripura are associated with 54,170 SHGs, 2,479 Village Organizations, and 174 CLFs under TRLM. Since 2018, SHG members have collectively availed loans amounting to Rs 1,773 crore, maintaining an impressive 98% repayment rate, a testament to their financial discipline and determination.

Out of the targeted 1.14 lakh “Lakhpati Didis,” around 1,08,281 women nearly 95% have already achieved the milestone, reflecting the success of TRLM’s ongoing mission.

According to TRLM officials, the program has transformed rural women into self-reliant entrepreneurs, contributing significantly to the state’s economy through ventures in agriculture, animal husbandry, and handicrafts. “The Samriddhi Abhiyan will take this movement to the next level, ensuring that no woman is left behind in Tripura’s development journey,” said Rural Development Secretary Abhishek Singh.

North Tripura District was awarded as best performing district in implementation of the Samriddhi campaign of TRLM. The district achieved almost 200% (198%) of the target. DM Chandni Chandran, IAS received the award from CM Dr Saha.

The event was also attended by CEO of TRLM and senior officials from the Rural Development Department.
