Agartala, September 23, 2025: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today inaugurated the much-anticipated Tripura Sundari Temple Development Project, marking a historic moment for the state’s cultural and religious tourism. The inauguration was carried out with a formal puja at the revered Tripura Sundari Temple, one of the 151 Shakti Peeths.
Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, who welcomed the Prime Minister on behalf of the people, expressed heartfelt gratitude for placing the Tripura Sundari Temple on the global map. “This is a milestone in the history of our state. The project will attract more visitors from across India and abroad,” he remarked.
Dr. Saha highlighted the significant support received from the Centre, noting that the Union Ministry of Tourism sanctioned Rs. 34.43 crore under the PRASAD scheme, while the State Government contributed Rs. 17.61 crore towards the temple’s development.
The Chief Minister also lauded the Prime Minister’s commitment to Tripura despite his busy schedule, describing his visit as a reflection of the people’s faith and trust. The atmosphere in Udaipur was charged with enthusiasm as locals gathered to witness the grand inauguration.
