Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand on Monday evening reviewed a comprehensive presentation by the Youth Affairs and Sports Department at the Secretariat on the High-Level Task Force (HLTF) Sports Development initiatives in the North East.

The presentation highlighted key thrust areas of the development process aimed at strengthening the sports sector in the region.

Emphasising the importance of building a robust and inclusive sports ecosystem, the Chief Minister stated that such efforts would empower youth, foster discipline and excellence, and pave the way for holistic growth.

He underlined that strengthening sports infrastructure and institutional mechanisms would bring about structural transformation in the state.

The Chief Minister further noted that these initiatives would contribute meaningfully towards the vision of Viksit Bharat and Viksit Manipur. Reaffirming his government’s commitment to nurturing sporting talent, he expressed confidence that Manipur would continue to position itself as a leading sporting powerhouse of the nation.
