The Group Centre, CRPF Imphal, observed National Sports Day on Thursday to commemorate the birth anniversary of hockey legend Major Dhyan Chand.

The celebration began with the National Sports Day pledge administered by the IGP, M&N Sector, who highlighted the significance of the day and recalled the contributions of Major Dhyan Chand in the field of sports. On the occasion, Padmashri N. Kunjarani Devi, Commandant, was honoured by the IGP, M&N Sector, and DIGP, GC Imphal.

As part of the programme, yoga activities were conducted at GC, CRPF Langjing, Imphal, with the participation of senior officers and 225 personnel. A friendly cricket match was also organized to promote sporting spirit and fitness among the forces.

The event was observed with enthusiasm and fervour, reflecting the spirit of sportsmanship and the importance of physical fitness in daily life.
