Delhi Police on Monday registered a criminal case after a woman from Manipur was allegedly physically assaulted near the Saket District Court complex in the national capital. The case was filed under relevant sections of the law following the reported incident on Sunday evening.

According to police, the assault took place when the victim and her friends were walking in a nearby park. A group of men allegedly made inappropriate remarks, and the situation escalated when one of the women objected, leading to a physical altercation. Another woman from Assam was also reportedly targeted during the incident.
In a post on X, Delhi Police stated that a criminal case has been registered and multiple teams have been deployed to identify and apprehend those involved. Police said they are in contact with the victim and are providing necessary assistance while the investigation continues.
The injured woman was taken to Safdarjung Hospital, where doctors confirmed that she sustained minor injuries and is recovering.
Earlier, Conrad K. Sangma condemned the incident on X, describing it as racial bullying against people from Northeast India. He urged authorities to take strict action against those responsible.
