Agartala, June 05, 2025: In a heartwarming initiative ahead of the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, a special tree plantation drive was organized today in Radhanagar, Tripura. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from personnel of the Assam Rifles, along with twenty children and eighteen mothers, aiming to instill the value of environmental conservation across all age groups.

The drive commenced with a brief speech emphasizing the significance of trees in sustaining life and preserving nature. This was followed by the ceremonial planting of saplings, with each tree symbolically dedicated to a mother.

“This campaign is not just about planting trees; it’s about planting emotions. We aim to encourage people to plant a tree in the name of their mother, linking the nurturing care of motherhood with the nurturing role of trees in nature,” said an Assam Rifles official.

By aligning the act of planting with the sentiment of honoring one’s mother, the initiative hopes to deepen the public’s connection with both environmental responsibility and familial love. The Assam Rifles emphasized that such initiatives are a step toward fostering a greener future while celebrating the selfless spirit of motherhood.
