Election officials in Manipur held a series of meetings with political parties across six districts in July to discuss the proposed Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, a government officer said on Tuesday.

The meetings were conducted in Noney, Ukhrul, Kamjong, Kangpokpi, and Thoubal districts, as well as in Hiyanglam and Sugnoo assembly constituencies under Kakching district. The district election officers (DEOs) organised and led the interactions.

During the district-level consultations, key issues such as the rationalisation of polling stations and the appointment of booth-level agents were deliberated upon. Political parties were invited to provide feedback, suggest acceptable documents for voter declarations, and raise any election-related concerns.

The DEOs assured party representatives that their suggestions would be given due consideration during the electoral roll revision process.
