Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma on Tuesday highlighted that recent developments in Bangladesh are affecting the security and overall dynamics of the region, particularly along India’s northeastern borders.
Speaking to reporters, Sangma said the situation across the border has changed compared to previous years. While he refrained from sharing specific details due to national security concerns, he noted that new activities in Bangladesh are influencing the regional environment.
The Chief Minister also mentioned instances of sporadic “militant-like” activities in Meghalaya, stressing the need for continuous monitoring amid shifting regional circumstances.
