A retired Lieutenant Colonel of the Indian Army, Lt Col L Manongba, has taken it upon himself to support widows and children affected by the ongoing ethnic violence in Manipur. His mission includes helping 35 widows start small businesses to earn a livelihood and funding the education of 60 children who lost their fathers in the conflict.
In recognition of his selfless efforts, Lt Col Manongba was honored with the Veteran Achiever award by Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi during the Army Day Parade in Pune last month. His work continues to make a significant impact, offering hope and opportunities to those devastated by the violence.
