Aizawl, Nov 23: K Vanlalvena, Rajya Sabha MP from Mizoram and leader of the Mizo National Front (MNF), has suggested a two-step solution to the ongoing ethnic violence in Manipur. He called for the immediate imposition of President’s Rule, followed by the creation of separate administrative units for the Meitei and Kuki-Zo communities.

In a statement on Friday, Vanlalvena emphasized that the violence, which has claimed over 250 lives since May 2023, requires urgent intervention. He stated that President’s Rule is the first necessary step to restore peace in the region. During this period, he proposed that the central government assess the situation and demarcate the areas occupied by both communities.

The MP also called for the removal of the current N Biren Singh-led government, suggesting that a neutral administration could more effectively address the crisis.
