According to the 10 AM flood update released by the Water Resources Department, Manipur, water levels in some rivers have shown marginal improvement, but several rivers continue to flow near or above danger levels, keeping flood risks elevated across the valley areas.
The Shamushang Regulator remains closed, while one gate of the Thoubal Barrage has been partially opened. The Imphal River at Lilong has recorded a slight decrease, now standing at 781.800 meters — still just above the flood level of 781.350 meters.
Similarly, the Nambul River at Hump Bridge is at the flood mark of 782.175 meters. The Nambol River at Nambol Bridge remains above its flood threshold at 774.100 meters. A minor drop was also observed in the Iril River at Irilbung Bridge, now measuring 786.450 meters — just below the flood mark.
The Thoubal River, however, continues to flow safely below danger levels, currently at 776.500 meters.
In terms of recent rainfall, Kangpokpi received 8 mm, while Jiribam recorded 10 mm over the last four hours. Minor rainfall was also reported at Raj Bhawan and Lamphel, while areas such as Saikul and Litan reported no precipitation.
Authorities have kept most gates of the Ithai and Imphal Barrages open to manage the water flow and mitigate further flood risk.
