Manipur Former Chief Minister N. Biren Singh on Wednesday inaugurated the Iputhou Marjing Expo 2025 at the Marjing Polo Tourism Complex in Imphal East.
The event is jointly organised by the Centre for Research on Environmental Development (CRED) and the North East Women Entrepreneurs Association (NEWEA), Manipur Chapter. The inaugural function was also attended by Manoj Sharma, Assistant Director (Grade-I) of the Ministry of MSME, and Naoroibam Jugin, President of Ipudhou Marjing Khubam Kanba Lup, Heingang.
Addressing the media on the sidelines of the event, the former Chief Minister reiterated the importance of having a popular government in the state for the welfare and development of the people.
“This Expo is a unique platform that brings together our art, culture, tradition, tourism, and the unmatched legacy of Sagol Kangjei, the origin of modern polo. It will not only promote sustainable tourism but also instill pride in our roots,” Biren Singh said.
He also congratulated the organisers and participants, calling the Expo a “celebration of identity, heritage, and local enterprise.”
“Let us continue to preserve our traditions while opening new doors for progress and unity,” he added.
