Gangtok, Nov 28: Sikkim Governor Om Prakash Mathur met with Lieutenant General Gurbirpal Singh, Director General of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), on Wednesday to discuss key initiatives aimed at expanding the NCC’s reach in the state.

Lt. Gen. Singh outlined plans to establish a separate Group Headquarters for Sikkim, develop an NCC Academy in Namchi, and offer enhanced career incentives for cadets. Additionally, he proposed the introduction of the prestigious Governor’s Medal to annually recognize the top-performing cadet.

Governor Mathur expressed his full support for these initiatives, emphasizing the importance of strengthening the NCC infrastructure and empowering the youth of Sikkim.
