P.B. Chettri, President of the Sikkim Vir Gurkha Ex-Servicemen Welfare Association (SVGESWA), along with other Executive Members, called on the Governor of Sikkim, Om Prakash Mathur, at Raj Bhavan on Friday.
The meeting focused on the Agniveer training conducted by the association at the SAP Camp, Pangthang, for the youth of Sikkim. The initiative aims to motivate young people and guide them towards a disciplined, healthy, and dedicated lifestyle, preparing them to contribute to nation-building.
Governor Mathur inquired about the response of youths to the Agniveer initiatives under the Central Government and praised the role of ex-servicemen in mentoring them. He noted that such efforts would benefit individuals while inspiring them to contribute to the vision of Viksit Bharat @ 2047.
The Governor also commended the association for its ongoing work and assured that Raj Bhavan would continue supporting ex-servicemen welfare.
During the visit, SVGESWA presented the Governor with their Annual Report and the yearly magazine, Agniveer.
