Renowned theatre artiste Ima Sabitri has been conferred with the prestigious ‘Belli Bahuroopi – Rangagowrava’ award at the Bahuroopi National Theatre Festival 2026, currently underway in Mysuru. The eight-day national-level festival is being held at Rangayana, the state repertory theatre located on Hunsur Road.
The festival began on January 11 and will continue until January 18, featuring a wide range of theatre productions and artistes from across the country. As part of the festival programme, Kalakshetra Manipur is set to stage the production Memoirs of Africa on January 14, with Ima Sabitri playing the lead role.
The festival will also feature the play Pi-Thadoi, directed by noted theatre personality Heisnam Tomba, further highlighting Manipur’s strong presence at the national theatre platform.
