Shillong, Jul 22: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for three districts in eastern Meghalaya, forecasting heavy rainfall and thunderstorms on Wednesday.

The affected districts include East Khasi Hills, West Jaintia Hills, and East Jaintia Hills, where intense spells of rain are expected.

A yellow alert has also been issued for Thursday, with the IMD predicting continued rainfall in parts of the state. Authorities have urged residents to remain cautious and follow safety advisories.
