The District Administration, Imphal East, today celebrated the 79th Independence Day with grandeur at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office Complex, Porompat.

The event was graced by Deputy Commissioner Dr. Nivedita Lairenlakpam, IAS, as the Chief Guest. The programme began with the National Anthem, followed by the inspection of the parade and the hoisting of the National Flag.

In her address, Dr. Nivedita highlighted the historical significance of the day, lauded the achievements of various departments, and outlined ongoing developmental initiatives in the district. She urged citizens to work together to promote peace, unity, and progress in the region and beyond.

Certificates of Appreciation were presented to individuals, organisations, and winners of Rangoli and Rakhi Making Competitions organised under the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign, recognising their exceptional contributions to community welfare and public service.

The celebration concluded with light refreshments for all attendees. The District Administration expressed gratitude to dignitaries, officials, participants, and members of the public for their active involvement in making the event a resounding success.
