The Indian Army’s Trishakti Corps organised the Bharat Ranbhoomi Darshan Supercar Drive from December 11 to 15 along the Sikkim Silk Route. The civil military initiative was conducted in partnership with Super Car Route (Mumbai) and the Government of Sikkim, with the objective of promoting responsible tourism, highlighting India’s border heritage, and strengthening people’s connect with the Armed Forces.

The drive was flagged off from Sukna by Lieutenant General Man Raj Singh Mann, General Officer Commanding, Trishakti Corps. A convoy of 17 supercars travelled from Mumbai to Sikkim, covering key locations including Gangtok, Nathu La and Zuluk. The route showcased the natural landscape of the Eastern Himalayas and underscored the strategic importance of the high-altitude border regions.

During the journey, participants paid tribute to Indian soldiers who defended the country during the historic Cho La and Nathu La engagements. As part of the initiative, the Cho La Prerna Sthal was inaugurated on December 14 and opened to tourists. The complex comprises the Cho La War Memorial, an audio-visual room and a gazebo overlooking Cho La Lake, aimed at providing visitors an understanding of the sacrifices made by soldiers and the challenges of service in extreme terrain.

The inauguration ceremony at Cho La was attended by Om Prakash Mathur, Governor of Sikkim, and Biswanath Somadder, Chief Justice of the Sikkim High Court, along with senior civil and military officials.

According to officials, the initiative sought to combine adventure tourism with awareness of military history while encouraging responsible travel and local engagement in border areas.
