Shillong, Nov 28: International pop-rock artist Richard Marx will headline the Me’gong Festival 2025, scheduled to be held on December 5 and 6 in Tura, western Meghalaya, organisers announced on Friday. The two-day event will also feature Dutch electronic duo Yellow Claw and Bollywood singers Kanika Kapoor and Neeti Mohan.
The festival lineup includes local performers such as Rough Road, Hoi Hoi Makbil, and Haystack Ladies, highlighting the musical talent of the region. Along with concerts, the Me’gong Festival will offer cultural experiences showcasing traditional cuisine, craft exhibitions, weaving workshops, bamboo artistry, and beaded jewellery created by local artisans.
Organisers said the event will continue to follow its sustainability approach with a zero-plastic policy, community-driven waste management, and eco-friendly installations. Meghalaya Tourism stated that the 2025 edition is expected to strengthen the cultural economy framework outlined by Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma, while promoting Garo Hills as an emerging cultural and tourism destination.
