Aizawl, April 21: The Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) has assured consumers in Mizoram that the supply of LPG remains stable despite disruptions in West Asia, urging households not to resort to panic booking.

At a press conference in Aizawl, IOCL sales manager (Aizawl-II) Diganta Chaudhury said the corporation is prioritising domestic requirements and closely monitoring the supply chain to ensure uninterrupted delivery. He noted that IOCL currently caters to nearly 2.97 lakh households in the state, maintaining a daily delivery of around 8,000 cylinders—consistent with pre-crisis levels.

Commercial LPG allocation has also been raised to about 70 percent of pre-crisis levels to support local businesses. To streamline refills, officials encouraged customers to adopt digital booking methods such as SMS and IVRS, which already account for nearly 25,000 refill requests.

In addition, IOCL has introduced delivery authentication codes (DAC OTP) to guarantee that cylinders reach genuine customers. The corporation has also conducted multiple raids across the state, taking strict action against distributors found engaging in malpractice.
