A 50-member Manipuri dance team of the Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy (JNMDA), Imphal, departed for New Delhi on Monday as an advance team to participate in the Republic Day Parade 2026. The team will represent the state of Manipur at the national समारोह scheduled to be held on January 26, 2026.

Officials said that another contingent comprising 42 members of the Pung and Sankirtana team of JNMDA will leave for the national capital on January 13 to take part in the same event.

In total, 92 artistes and students from JNMDA, Imphal, will participate in the Republic Day Parade 2026, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Manipur on the national stage.
