Kevilekho Zumvü claimed his eighth state title by winning the 21st Nagaland State Chess Championship 2025 held in Kohima. The event concluded on Saturday with Zumvü receiving a cash prize of ₹30,000, along with a trophy and citations.
Hailamgumbe Hai Kube secured the second position and was awarded ₹20,000. Salhuto Nyekha and Mughaho Awomi finished in third and fourth places, respectively.
Chief Arbiter Vekukho Soho declared the results and announced that the top four players will represent Nagaland at the 62nd National Chess Championship.
