Landslides Disrupt Traffic On NH-10 Between Sikkim And West Bengal

Gangtok, July 19: Landslides and rockfall have disrupted traffic on National Highway-10, the main road connecting Sevoke in West Bengal to Rangpo in Sikkim, officials reported on Saturday.

The landslides occurred at Birik Dara in Kalimpong district, leading to the complete suspension of vehicular movement since 11 am on Friday, according to the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (NHIDCL).

Restoration and debris clearance work is currently in progress to reopen the route for traffic.
