Security forces, in coordination with Manipur Police, averted a major threat during a joint search operation in the Lamlai–Tellou area of Manipur following specific and corroborated intelligence inputs about the movement of armed non-state elements (ANEs).
Joint teams carried out intensive area domination and a thorough search operation in the region, during which an abandoned hideout with multiple weapon caches was detected in the hilly terrain. The operation led to the recovery of two pistols, 91 rounds of live ammunition, a live 51 mm mortar high-explosive bomb, hand grenades and other war-like stores.
After the recovery, the area was sanitised to eliminate any remaining threats and ensure public safety. All seized weapons, explosives and war-like materials were subsequently handed over to Lamlai Police Station for further legal proceedings.
Officials said the swift and coordinated action by the security forces and Manipur Police successfully neutralised a serious security threat and reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining peace and stability in the region.
