In a significant operation, a joint team of Manipur Police and 38 Assam Rifles apprehended an active cadre of the Hmar People’s Convention (Democratic) near the Barak River bank close to Tuisolen village in Jiribam District. The arrested individual, identified as Lalchuoilo (48) from Lungthuilien village in Pherzawl District, was taken into custody under Borobekra Police Station jurisdiction.

The operation led to the recovery of a cache of items, including 20 explosive sticks, 11 detonators, one meter of safety fuse, and 44 soap caps containing a brown-colored powder suspected to be contraband drugs (Brown Sugar), weighing approximately 457 grams.

Authorities have initiated further investigation into the matter to determine the suspect’s network and possible motives.
