Manipur: Assam Rifles Recover Illicit Liquor In Tamenglong

Assam Rifles recovered a large consignment of illicit liquor during an area domination patrol in Tamei, Tamenglong district of Manipur. The troops noticed a suspicious stack during the patrol, which on inspection, led to the recovery of 144 bottles of country-made liquor. The seized items were later handed over to Tamei Police Station for further investigation and legal action.

In a separate operation on August 20, Assam Rifles recovered arms, ammunition and war-like stores from Saikhumpai in Champhai district of Mizoram. Acting on specific intelligence, multiple Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs) were deployed and maintained stealth along the Tiau River before carrying out a systematic search. The operation led to the recovery of one Heckler and Koch G3 Assault Rifle with a magazine, nine 40mm grenades, one thermobaric RPG grenade, one hand grenade, one under-barrel grenade launcher and 36 rounds of .22 ammunition. The seized items were handed over to the Police Department, Dungtlang.
