Bishnupur, July 3: Deputy Commissioner of Bishnupur, Pooja Elangbam, today chaired the District Level Aadhaar Monitoring Committee Meeting for the calendar year 2025 at the Conference Hall of the Mini Secretariat Complex, Bishnupur.
The meeting focused on achieving Aadhaar saturation across the district and implementing the Mandatory Biometric Update (MBU). Other major points of discussion included Enrolment and Update (E&U) activities and the Birth Registration-Based Aadhaar Enrolment (BRBAE) project.
Addressing the gathering, DC Elangbam emphasized the significance of Aadhaar in ensuring seamless public service delivery and proper documentation. She highlighted that biometric updates are mandatory at two critical stages in a child’s life — MBU 1 (ages 5–7) and MBU 2 (ages 15–17) — and warned that failure to update could result in deactivation of the Aadhaar number.
The DC announced that a district-wide Aadhaar enrolment drive will be launched on Monday, July 7, to achieve 100% Aadhaar saturation. She urged all departments and officials to intensify awareness efforts and encourage timely updates through every available communication channel.
Oinam John Singh, Assistant Manager of UIDAI’s Regional Office in Guwahati, attended the meeting as a resource person and presented a detailed PowerPoint on Aadhaar Saturation Strategies, MBU implementation, E&U status, BRBAE rollout, and the use of government portals for issuing digitally verifiable documents.
The meeting was attended by ADM Bishnupur Toijam Opendro, SDOs and BDOs of Nambol, Bishnupur, and Moirang, CMO and ZEO Bishnupur, members of the District Level Aadhaar Monitoring Committee, UIDAI representatives, and other concerned officials.
The DC concluded the meeting by urging all stakeholders to work proactively and collaboratively to meet the enrolment targets at the earliest.
