The Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BOSEM) on Friday declared the results of the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) Examination 2026, recording an overall pass percentage of 88.74 percent.
The results were formally announced during a function held at the BOSEM office at Babupara, Imphal, in the presence of Commissioner of Education (S) Ningthoujam Geoffrey, Director of Education (S) Ng Bhogendra, BOSEM Secretary S. Jitelal Sharma, and Controller of Examinations Ayam Thoi Singh.
This year, the results were announced under the Grade Point System. Out of 36,726 students enrolled for the examination, 36,579 appeared, while 32,459 candidates successfully cleared the examination.
Among the different categories of schools, private schools recorded the highest pass percentage at 92.34 percent, followed by aided schools at 84.15 percent and government schools at 77.63 percent.
District-wise, Chandel district emerged as the top performer with a pass percentage of 97.38 percent.
Speaking at the function, BOSEM Secretary S. Jitelal Sharma said the board would make efforts to declare the examination results earlier from next year onwards. He stated that evaluation of answer scripts would begin immediately after completion of the concerned papers to speed up the process.
He also mentioned that slight changes were made in this year’s examination routine, with subjects requiring longer evaluation periods being conducted earlier.
