The District Magistrate of Churachandpur, Kumar Dharun S., has declared the entire district as a “No Drone Zone” in view of the proposed visit of a VVIP.
The order, issued on Thursday, prohibits the flying of drones, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), balloons, or any form of aerial photography and videography devices that could pose a potential threat to law and order. Only aerial devices expressly approved by the government will be permitted.
The directive was enforced under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, citing the need to ensure and strengthen security during the high-profile visit.
Violators will face legal action under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, along with other applicable provisions of law.
Citing the emergent nature of the situation, the District Magistrate issued the order ex-parte under Section 163(2) of BNSS, 2023. The restrictions will remain in force until further notice.
