Chief Minister N. Biren Singh witnessed the screening of the film Chahi Taret Khuntakpa at Kangla Hall, Imphal. The movie portrays the harrowing yet heroic chapter of Manipur’s history known as the Seven Years Devastation (1819–1826), a period marked by immense suffering but also the unyielding spirit and courage of the Manipuri people.
Commending the filmmakers for their efforts, CM Biren stated on X (formerly Twitter), “I congratulate the filmmakers for their dedication in bringing this important story to life and ensuring that the lessons of the Chahi Taret Khuntakpa are passed on to future generations.”
The film serves as both an educational tool and a source of inspiration, urging viewers to reflect on the past, draw lessons from the struggles of their forefathers, and work collectively towards a stronger and united Manipur.
