Chief Minister N. Biren Singh on Saturday distributed advanced prosthetic devices, including state-of-the-art myoelectric hands and motorized wheelchairs, to Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) at an event held on the lawn of his official residence.
Taking to social media platform X, the Chief Minister shared, “These advanced, modern devices are made in Manipur and will greatly assist them in carrying out various daily activities. We remain committed to further assisting the PwDs and helping them live fulfilling lives and actively contribute to the growth of society.”
The initiative is part of the Chief Minister’s Social Support Scheme (CMST), which provides aid and grants to PwDs. Additionally, students with disabilities (SwDs) are offered scholarships, free travel, and concessions in public transport under the Manipur State Transport (MST) program.
The move highlights the government’s dedication to empowering PwDs and promoting inclusivity through innovative solutions and welfare schemes.
