Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh on Saturday chaired a review meeting with senior officials of the Department of Agriculture and Horticulture to discuss measures for economic revival of the state through the promotion of the Integrated Farming System (IFS).

The meeting, held at the Secretariat, focused on strengthening agriculture and horticulture, which the Chief Minister described as the backbone of Manipur’s economy.

Khemchand Singh emphasised the need to enhance farm productivity, ensure fair market access for agricultural produce and work towards doubling farmers’ income as part of the government’s strategy for sustainable growth.

Reiterating the state government’s commitment to the farming community, the Chief Minister said empowering farmers and building a resilient, self-reliant agrarian economy would remain a key priority for Manipur. He directed officials to take coordinated steps to support farmers and accelerate the adoption of integrated and sustainable farming practices across the state.
