A formal complaint seeking registration of a First Information Report (FIR) has been submitted at Porompat Police Station against Khurai MLA Leishangthem Susindro Meitei, accusing him of illegally dismantling an ongoing government school construction and threatening workers at the site.

The complaint was filed by Mayanglambam Khonikar Meitei, General Secretary of Friends Unions’ Club (FUC), Khurai Heigrumakhong, who urged the police to register an FIR and initiate prompt legal action over the alleged destruction of public property and criminal intimidation.
According to the complaint, the Education (Schools) Department, Government of Manipur, is constructing the Khurai Heigrumakhong Junior High School under the NESIDS (OTRI) scheme in EPC mode as part of efforts to strengthen school infrastructure in the area.
It is alleged that on January 18, 2026, around 1.30 pm, the MLA, without any lawful authority or government order, dismantled portions of the ongoing construction. The complaint further alleges that he threatened workers and engineers at the site, creating fear and obstructing the execution of the government project.
Describing the act as a serious abuse of power, the complainant stated that the incident amounts to criminal intimidation and violation of the Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act, 1984. It was also claimed that the alleged destruction has caused loss to the public exchequer and disrupted the education of children in the Khurai Heigrumakhong area.
The complainant has appealed to the police to register an FIR against the MLA under relevant legal provisions and take necessary action in the matter.
