The Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) has called for immediate relief measures and greater accountability from authorities in response to the devastating floods sweeping across the state.

Addressing the media at Congress Bhavan in Imphal, AICC Member and MPCC Senior Spokesperson N. Bupenda Meitei expressed grave concern over the extent of destruction caused by the floods. He emphasized the urgent need for both short-term relief and long-term preventive measures to mitigate future disasters.

Bhupendra Meitei revealed that MPCC President Keisham Meghachandra Singh had written to the Governor of Manipur, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, demanding a transparent and comprehensive response from the state administration. The letter highlighted the mismanagement of the current crisis and called on authorities to take decisive steps to address the situation.

The Congress party urged the government to provide adequate compensation to all affected individuals and entities; ensure protection of lives and properties, and mobilize all available resources for effective flood management across the state.

Bhupendra Meitei was joined by MPCC General Secretary Wahidur Rahman and PCC Spokesperson S. Zakir Hussain, who echoed the call for swift and effective government intervention to support flood-affected communities.

The party reiterated its commitment to standing with the people of Manipur during this crisis and holding the administration accountable for its response.
