Deputy Commissioner Krishna Kumar, IAS, conducted an extensive inspection of flood-affected areas in Borobekra Sub-Division on Wednesday, accompanied by SP Jiribam Sheikh Mohd Zaib Zakir, IPS, and the Commandant of CRPF 20 Battalion.
The team visited several flood-hit villages including Chhotobekra Kaya Punjee, Chhotobekra Bengoli, Bhutangkhal, Borobekra, Jatrapur, and Dholakhal Ching Leikai to assess the situation and review ongoing road construction works along JT Road.
During the visit, the DC interacted with residents and distributed essential relief materials such as rice, daal, mustard oil, salt, and mosquito nets. At the Borobekra Relief Camp, he met Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), addressed their concerns, and provided additional support including a sewing machine and a guitar.
The DC also visited Netaji High School, where he distributed Beti Bachao Beti Padhao T-shirts to all girl students and local women, emphasizing the importance of girls’ education and empowerment.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Th. Manoranjan, CMO Vinay Prasad Sahu, SDC Borobekra M. Devananda Singh, and officials from various departments accompanied the inspection team.
