As part of the nationwide Good Governance Week campaign observed from December 19 to 25, 2025, under the theme “Prashashan Gaon Ki Ore”, the District Administration Jiribam on Tuesday organised a District Level Workshop-cum-One Day Grievance Redressal Camp at the DC Office Complex, Jiribam.
The camp was held under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Krishna Kumar, IAS, from 10 am to 12 noon, with a focus on on-the-spot grievance redressal and delivery of public services under various government schemes and programmes.
Inaugurating the camp, DC Krishna Kumar said the initiative was aimed at ensuring that people from all sections of society are able to access the benefits of government schemes through different line departments. He stressed that government servants must serve the public with empathy rather than sympathy and directed line departments to work in coordination to resolve public grievances effectively.
Stalls were set up by several departments, including the DC Office Jiribam, Forest Division Jiribam, ICDS, DCPU under District Social Welfare, Education Department, District Health Society Jiribam, Veterinary and Animal Husbandry, Sericulture, Horticulture and Soil Conservation, SDAO, Jiribam Municipal Council, Weights and Measures, RD and PR, MSPDCL, PWD, PHE, and District Cooperative, facilitating grievance redressal and service delivery.
During the camp, the Jiribam Forest Division distributed free seedlings, registered private plantations, and showcased Van Dhan Vikash Yojana (VDVK) products such as honey produced by tribal communities.
The Education Department, led by ZEO Jiribam, addressed grievances of 17 students through camps held at Ahmedabad High School, Relief Camp at Bidyanangar Sports Complex, and Jiribam Higher Secondary School Relief Camp. Free school uniforms and textbooks were also distributed to five students.
The Horticulture and Soil Conservation Department distributed hybrid tomato seeds, organic manure, sprinklers, and drip irrigation pump sets to seven beneficiaries under MIDH, PKMSY, and PDMC schemes. The SDAO distributed vermicompost, bio-fertilisers, mustard seeds, and micro fertilisers under the RKVY scheme, along with water pump sprinklers to five beneficiaries under PMKSY and PDMC schemes.
The DCPU Jiribam issued and received applications for sponsorship of children below 18 years under the Financial Support for Education programme.
The Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Department vaccinated around 20 dogs against rabies, while the Jiribam Municipal Council issued birth and death certificates and PRCs to about 20 beneficiaries. Issues related to land records and certification under Jiribam and Borobekra subdivisions were also addressed.
Meanwhile, the District Health Society, Jiribam, organised a free health camp, providing medicines, family planning commodities, TB, malaria and NCD screening, immunisation, and medical check-ups to around 50 people.
