In a major crackdown on inter-state drug trafficking, the Special Cell of the Manipur Police, in coordination with the Assam Rifles, arrested an alleged drug smuggler from Bihar and seized over 2 kilograms of high-grade heroin.
The accused, identified as Anshu Raj (27), a resident of MP Bagh Ara, Arrah in Bhojpur district of Bihar, was apprehended at the Mao check post in Senapati district during a routine frisking and checking operation of outgoing passenger vehicles.
According to police, two packages of suspected heroin, weighing 1.021 kg and 1.020 kg respectively, were recovered from his possession.
