Manipur Police have seized illegal drugs and arrested two individuals in separate operations conducted in Churachandpur and Thoubal districts.

In Churachandpur, police apprehended a drug peddler identified as Mungsanglian alias David (33) at Lanva. Authorities recovered 112 soap cases containing a total of 1,267 grams of suspected brown sugar (excluding packaging weight) from his possession.

In a separate operation in Thoubal district, police arrested a woman drug peddler from her residence at Lilong Haoreibi Turel Ahanbi Kaleikhong under the jurisdiction of Lilong Police Station. The accused, identified as Fatima (44), was found in possession of 51 bottles of “Codeine Phosphate and Tripolidine HCl Syrup 100 ml” branded as TUSSREX-TR.

Both accused individuals have been taken into custody, and further investigations are underway.
