Security forces on Thursday arrested four individuals involved in drug trafficking from T. Khullen village under Kangpokpi Police Station in Kangpokpi district.
The arrested persons have been identified as S. Poubinah Teinamei (31), PF Adaphro (34), S. Boibina (29), all residents of T. Khullen, and Lungdinibou Thiumei (52) of Khundong Khunkhaiba, Tamenglong district.
During the operation, authorities seized 273 soap cases of heroin weighing approximately 3.5 kilograms, unaccounted cash amounting to ₹99,09,850, seven mobile phones, and two four-wheelers—a DI vehicle and a Hyundai Creta.
In a separate operation, two more individuals were apprehended at the 6 Assam Rifles Awangkhul Check Post along NH-37 under Noney Police Station, Noney district. The arrested individuals, Ayekpam Sanouton Singh (35) of Tera Lukram Leirak, Imphal West, and Yumnam Surjit Singh (37) of Kamaranga Maning Leikai, Imphal East, were found transporting a large consignment of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL).
Security personnel seized 1,429 cases of IMFL and beer from their possession. The two were later handed over to the Excise Department along with the confiscated liquor for further legal action.
