A full-dress rehearsal for the 77th Republic Day celebrations was conducted today at Kangla in Imphal to ensure smooth and coordinated execution of the main event.

The rehearsal witnessed the participation of marching contingents from various security forces, Army veterans, NCC cadets, school students, and cultural troupes, all displaying a high level of discipline and coordination.
As part of the Republic Day–2025 honours, a total of 14 security personnel of different ranks will be conferred the President’s Medal for Distinguished Service and the Medal for Meritorious Service. Additionally, medals for Meritorious Service for Independence Day–2025 will also be awarded.

All ceremonial components, including parade inspection, band performances, mass drill, and cultural programmes, were meticulously rehearsed. Senior police and Army officials were present to supervise the proceedings and review the overall arrangements.

The rehearsal concluded in an orderly and disciplined manner, reflecting the preparedness and collective commitment of all participants to celebrate the 77th Republic Day with pride and grandeur.
