The Government of Manipur has expressed deep concern over the ambush on personnel of the 33 Assam Rifles that took place on September 19, 2025. In the attack, two Assam Rifles personnel were martyred, while five others sustained injuries.

Strongly condemning the incident, the State Government conveyed its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured soldiers.

As a mark of recognition for their sacrifices, the Government has announced an ex-gratia of ₹5 lakh each for the families of the deceased personnel and ₹2 lakh each for those who suffered grievous injuries. It has also assured all necessary support for the treatment and rehabilitation of the injured soldiers.
